A little smaller than I thought it would be (I know; that's what she said). Which can be a pro, for backpacking purposes. I have a favorite titanium spoon that I like to use for everything, and I've been using this one in its place. Don't like it as much, but it has its merits. Does a better job at holding liquidy, soupy stuff, the way it's shaped, and can hold a bigger bite. Very lightweight yet heavy duty. Fairly priced. I mostly Dig It, just not my favorite, if that makes sense.

I think this would be perfect for backpacking. You are dealing with a formed piece of sheet metal, so don't expect to be able to close your lips on this. The ergonomics are decent, but again, sheet metal. I don't have any grand adventures planned for this (it lives in my work bag) but if you're looking for a lightweight and durable, reusable, titanium spoon this is a great deal.

When I took it out of the box and held it for the first time, I was surprised at the shallowness of the spoon's bowl and its short handle. The bowl holds about 1.5 teaspoons of liquid. End-to-end the spoon is only 5.7 inches long. It's made out of super-lightweight Grade 1 (lowest grade) titanium, which is the grade that's typically used for utensils like this. It is indeed odorless, tasteless, rust-resistant, and nonreactive.As an everyday or travel/camping spoon, this is plenty durable, easy to clean, and sort of fun to eat with. The edges are well-rounded and smooth and I love the unique shape of the spoon. My only complaint is the matte finish, which I'm not used to in a spoon. After eating with this spoon, I understand why eating utensils generally have a polished finish: There's an unpleasant scraping sensation when my teeth touch the matte titanium. But as awful as that sounds, I still really like this spoon. The price is a little high, but I don't mind paying a little extra for a well-made, useful product. It would be perfect if it had a polished bowl.
